Navua is gearing up to host the highly anticipated Kasabias Bula Brothers 7s tournament this Friday and Saturday at Thomson Park, showcasing an impressive array of 36 men’s teams and six women’s teams. This two-day event marks one of the largest gatherings in Fiji’s rugby calendar, following the notable Fiji Bitter Marist 7s which took place in March.

Among the men’s teams competing, the Devo Babas, having clinched the title at the 2024/2025 Fiji Bitter 7s series, will be a key contender alongside other strong teams including Police Blue, Wardens Green, and Axellerate Dominion Brothers. The event will highlight the rich tapestry of rugby in Fiji, bringing together talent from grassroots to elite levels.

The women’s competition features teams such as Tagimoucia Ranadi and Sinukakala Amazons, adding depth to the tournament. Notably, the tournament also aims to promote a positive message with the theme “Say No To Drugs & Keep Rugby Clean.”

The men’s teams will compete in multiple pools, including Pool A with teams like Bula Brothers 1 and Yaro Chiefs, and various other pools featuring a mix of established clubs and emerging teams. The tournament promises not only to emphasize competition but also to foster community connectivity and celebration of rugby culture in Fiji.

In recent tournaments, such as the upcoming Mick’s Fiji Tours & Transfers Vatulele 7s, local teams have demonstrated fierce competition, showcasing the growing excitement around rugby events across the nation. This trend indicates a hopeful future for rugby in Fiji, where community spirit and grassroots involvement continue to flourish.

With the anticipation building for the matches, fans are encouraged to come out and support their teams, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere that defines Fiji’s rugby culture.
