The Deputy Prime Minister and Communications Minister, Manoa Kamikamica, has announced that the 2024/2025 HSBC SVNS World Series will be broadcast live and free-to-air on Mai TV. This agreement between Digicel, the rights holder for the series, and Mai TV has been positively received by Kamikamica, highlighting its significance in increasing rugby accessibility for Fijians nationwide.

Under this new commercial arrangement, both Digicel and Mai TV will air all matches from the pool stages through to the cup finals. This marks a significant enhancement from their previous collaboration, where Mai TV only aired Fiji’s matches during last week’s Dubai 7s tournament. The decision comes on the heels of fans expressing dissatisfaction with the earlier coverage of the Dubai 7s, where both the men’s and women’s teams participated in the tournament.

This agreement not only allows Mai TV to broadcast the entire HSBC SVNS World Series but also represents a transition in the broadcasting of the series, as national broadcasters have previously held the rights to air these events.

In the meantime, the Cape Town 7s tournament is set to commence tonight at 7 PM and will conclude on Monday, providing an exciting opportunity for rugby fans.

This development will help unite rugby enthusiasts across Fiji, as they can now easily follow their teams without any barriers. It reflects a commitment to promoting sports and ensuring that fans remain engaged and connected to their national teams.

Overall, this move is a step in the right direction towards enhancing the viewership experience for all rugby fans in the country.
