Nilesh Singh, the founder of Niltech Consulting, celebrated a significant milestone in his company’s partnership with the Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) when he arranged for six Queensland Reds players to visit his former school, Suva Grammar. As a proud alumnus, Singh was excited to link the international rugby team with the institution where his passion for the sport first developed.
The Reds’ visit to Fiji in May 2024 to compete against the Fijian Drua marked a pivotal moment in Niltech’s collaboration with QRU, which commenced only three months earlier. This partnership has now been renewed for another year, allowing the Niltech Consulting logo to remain prominently displayed on both the Queensland Reds’ playing and training shorts, as well as on the Queensland sevens squad.
Reflecting on the initial months of the partnership, Singh remarked, “The partnership has surpassed all expectations. We are very pleased, and long may it continue.” He noted that the sponsorship has greatly benefited Niltech Consulting, a digital transformation firm with operations in Brisbane, Malaysia, and soon in East Timor.
Singh highlighted that the high-profile win by the Reds against the Crusaders drew significant attention to their logo, demonstrating the effectiveness of the collaboration. However, for Singh, the partnership represents more than just corporate association; it also reflects personal connections and mutual respect developed during their time working together.
During the visit to Suva Grammar, the impact of the players on students ranging from the first XV to the Under-15s was profound. Singh expressed confidence that this experience may cultivate future Super Rugby Pacific players from this group. Notable moments included prop Peni Ravai providing guidance to the school’s first XV prop, alongside Reds stars like Seru Uru, Suliasi Vunivalu, and Hunter Paisami, who engaged actively with the students.
Singh underscored that the partnership transcends business interests, focusing instead on nurturing rugby talent in both Australia and Fiji while inspiring the next generation of athletes.
