The Serevi Academy of Rugby is thrilled to kick off its inaugural rugby camp in Fiji for 2025, taking place today at Lawaqa Park. This camp is a significant step in the academy’s mission to empower young athletes through the sport of rugby.

Noted sevens rugby star Waisale Serevi announced the camp details on his Facebook page. The camp consists of two training sessions aimed at fostering essential rugby skills, discipline, and teamwork among local youth. The morning session, scheduled from 9 AM to 11 AM, is dedicated to girls aged U16 to U18, while the afternoon session will focus on boys in the same age group from 1 PM to 4 PM.

One of the camp’s highlights is that it is free to participants, providing an invaluable opportunity for Fiji’s young athletes to learn from experienced coaches and hone their skills in the sport. Serevi expressed his deep gratitude for this opportunity to give back to the youth in his home country. “I’m so grateful to God for the chance to run my first-ever Serevi Academy of Rugby camp in Fiji. It’s a true honor to give back to the youth here and to help them grow both as athletes and individuals,” he shared.

The camp carries a strong message of resilience and drug prevention, encapsulated in its theme: “Phil4:13 STAY STRONG – SAY NO TO DRUGS.” This initiative aims not only to promote rugby skills but also to impart valuable life lessons that encourage young athletes to pursue their dreams.

Special recognition was given to the Fiji Sports Council for providing the venue and for their support, alongside partner Aqua Pacific. Parents and guardians wishing to enroll their children in the camp can contact Aseri Tuitubou at 9034496 or Jo Rokomarawa at 9418391 for further details.

This camp signifies much more than just sports training; it promises to be a nurturing ground for future leaders in Fiji’s youth, inspiring them to create a brighter future both on and off the rugby field.
