Jone Raibevu, renowned for his remarkable 57-meter penalty kick in the Fiji Secondary School Rugby Eastern Zone final, is overjoyed as he embarks on an exciting journey with the Fijian Drua Academy.

The 17-year-old standout has been selected as one of 28 talented players who will undergo specialized skills training with Drua coaches and high-performance staff over the next three years. This opportunity is a dream realized for Raibevu, a year 12 student at Queen Victoria School, who feels ecstatic about making strides in his rugby career.

“I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would come this far in my passion for rugby; it’s something I’ve only seen on television. This is truly my dream coming to reality,” said Raibevu, capturing the essence of his excitement.

Raibevu is eager to seize every opportunity presented to him by the Drua management and coaching team. He is committed to hard work and listening to the advice given to him, with aspirations of one day joining the Fijian Drua team and wearing the Flying Fijians jersey.

In a message to young aspiring rugby players across the nation, Raibevu encourages them to set goals and relentlessly pursue their dreams. The academy has drawn talent from fifteen local secondary schools, showcasing the potential that exists within Fiji’s youth.
