Rugby Dreams Ignite with Return of Vodafone Kaji Competition!

Excitement is growing among young primary school rugby players as the Vodafone Kaji Rugby competition was officially launched at the Vodafone Headquarters in Tamavua, marking its return after a five-year break.

Sakiusa Turagabeci, President of the Primary School Rugby Union, stated that the launch of the tournament is not merely about competition; it also aims to inspire dreams, passion, and future success for the nation’s youth. He highlighted the significance of the partnership with Vodafone, which provides a platform for competition and crucial support for rugby development at the grassroots level.

Turagabeci revealed that around 3,000 students from 16 unions across Fiji will take part in the competition, demonstrating significant interest and involvement in the sport among primary school students.

Rajnesh Prasad, Vodafone’s regional chief marketing officer, expressed his excitement about the return of the Kaji Rugby competition, stressing its importance for the future of rugby in Fiji. He remarked, “The Vodafone Kaji Rugby holds a special place in our hearts as it is about our kids and the future of rugby in Fiji. The development of grassroots rugby is crucial, especially at this level, as it helps develop the game.”

The competition is scheduled to take place at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on October 29-30.
