Lasaqa shares that communities are rallying with enthusiasm around their local teams, creating an electric atmosphere.
“This is not just about winning; it’s about nurturing the next generation of Fiji Rugby stars,” Lasaqa mentioned. The Grassroots series serves as a vital platform for youth development, offering young athletes not merely game time but also instilling discipline, promoting healthy lifestyles, and giving players a chance to be noticed by selectors at provincial and national levels.
Registrations are still open for interested teams, providing an opportunity to be part of this vibrant initiative shaping the future of rugby in Fiji. The event is expected to promote community spirit, with attendees encouraged to show their support by cheering for their teams throughout the competition.
The upcoming tournament not only focuses on athletic performance but also symbolizes hope and unity for the younger generation, underscoring the value of sports in fostering community ties and encouraging personal growth among youth. The Grassroots initiative is part of a larger movement to promote sports at the community level which continues to thrive in Fiji.
