Ba Rugby will convene its Special General Meeting today at 2 PM at the Bure by Ba Market, urging all registered clubs to have two representatives present. BRU Secretary Gaby Kautoga emphasized the importance of this meeting, particularly as it focuses on preparations for the upcoming 2025 season.

Kautoga indicated that significant changes are expected in the 15s season next year, affecting both the FRU tournaments and local competitions. Notably, the Ba club competition will feature a new Premier Division composed of the top 16 teams from this year, with the remaining clubs participating in a second tier.

The executives are proposing a system of automatic relegation and promotion, which will be opened for discussion among the members. Additionally, Premier Division clubs may face higher registration fees due to the increased prize money on offer.

Kautoga highlighted that the engagement of all clubs in the meeting is crucial, as the decisions made will carry significant implications for every team. Alongside the discussed topics, other important matters on the agenda include player insurance, registration processes, and adherence to the code of conduct.

This initiative reflects a commitment to ensuring that all voices in the rugby community are heard as they shape the future of the sport in Ba. It’s an exciting opportunity for clubs to participate in the decision-making process, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration within the rugby community.

In summary, the Special General Meeting is set to be pivotal in establishing the foundation for the Ba Rugby competitions to come, presenting opportunities for clubs to voice their opinions and contribute to the sport’s evolution in the region.
