Rugby Action Fuels Church Building Initiative

The All Nations Christian Fellowship successfully organized a two-day Epic 7s Tournament at Prince Charles Park over the weekend, concluding yesterday. The event attracted large crowds and aimed to raise funds for a new church building, featuring 20 senior men’s teams, 24 U21 teams, and five women’s teams, all participating in high-energy rugby matches for a charitable cause.

This tournament is part of the church’s three-year initiative to gather $30,000 to $35,000 needed for constructing a new place of worship in Suva. With a goal to secure between $20,000 and $25,000 from the tournament, the church community expressed enthusiasm for the strong turnout and support.

Tournament Director Vilitati Galivia shared insights into their goals. “The primary purpose of this tournament is to establish an All Nations Christian Fellowship Church in Suva. We already own land in Suva, but we need to construct our church, and our budget for this project is around $30,000-$35,000. We plan to raise $20,000-$25,000 from this two-day 7s tournament,” Galivia stated.

The tournament featured participation from teams across the Western, Northern, and Eastern divisions. The police team showcased a strong performance, reinforcing their competitive reputation, while teams from the Western and Northern divisions displayed remarkable skill and sportsmanship, contributing to a fiercely contested event.
