Recent reports from World Rugby have highlighted the ongoing excitement within the Rugby community following the remarkable Rugby 7s competition held during the Paris 2024 Olympics. Over the span of six thrilling days, the Stade de France welcomed more than 530,000 enthusiastic fans, creating an exhilarating atmosphere and marking a significant achievement for Rugby 7s, which met the sport’s ambitious expectations.

Osea will remain in his role as the Head Coach of the Men’s Sevens Team for the next four years. After engaging discussions with Coaches, Team Managers, Captains, and an independent review team, Osea’s success over the past months has underscored his potential and future vision. He has ambitious plans in place, which he will unveil in due time. The possibility for the Men’s Sevens Team under his leadership remains promising, with aspirations directed toward securing gold at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

As for the Women’s Sevens coaching position, Saiasi Fuli’s contract will conclude in December 2024. After discussions with Fuli, the decision has been made to open the application process to find the ideal candidate to guide the women’s team into its next chapter. The incoming coach will be responsible for developing and implementing a High-Performance Strategy moving forward and for selecting the team for the upcoming HSBC 7s series program.
