Fji football star Roy Krishna is poised to make a comeback on the field after a lengthy seven-month rehabilitation period. He has dismissed rumors about returning to play for a local Fijian club, instead confirming his focus on negotiations with several Indian clubs as he looks to carve out a new chapter in his football career.

The 37-year-old striker’s last season was cut short by a serious Grade 3 ACL injury that he sustained last December while playing for Odisha FC. This marked the first major setback in his otherwise illustrious career. Sharing insights with FBC Sports, Krishna expressed that while various clubs have reached out to him, his primary goal remains regaining full fitness.

“I’m feeling good, already moving well, and there is no pain,” Krishna mentioned. “I can kick the ball, so I’m almost there, but there is a process I need to follow.”

During his time away from competitive play, Krishna took the opportunity to complete a coaching course in India, an initiative he had long desired to pursue. The experience proved challenging yet rewarding, enhancing his respect for coaches and the intricate work involved in training sessions. Despite his interest in coaching, his heart remains set on returning to the pitch.

Krishna’s resilience illustrates hope for both him and fans, reflecting the notion that overcoming obstacles is crucial in sports. The football community eagerly anticipates his return, drawing inspiration from his dedication and unwavering spirit. As he prepares to step back into the limelight, the hope is palpable that Krishna will not only return to form but also continue to inspire the next generation of athletes in Fiji and beyond.

In recent years, Krishna has made an indelible mark in the Indian Super League, proving himself as a standout player. While challenges, including injuries, are part of an athlete’s journey, his determination serves as a beacon of inspiration, demonstrating that with hard work and perseverance, comebacks are indeed possible.
