Roy Krishna has thrown his full support behind Fiji’s extended Bula Boys squad, praising the inclusion of fresh faces and urging the next generation to seize a rare chance to wear the national jersey.

At the heart of the selection is Labasa’s goalkeeper Jitoko Vulava, whose recent standout performance earned him man-of-the-match honors in the Extra Battle of the Giants. Krishna said there was no question Vulava deserved his place in the squad.

“Well, he deserved it. He got man of the match. He deserves to wear the national team jersey,” Krishna commented.

But Krishna stressed that the job is far from done. “Now it’s up to him, to train hard, earn his spot, and cement his place.”

The captain also praised the coaching staff for assembling a good mix of players. “I’m just happy that a lot of young boys and new faces are getting the opportunity but it’s up to them to grab it, because opportunities like this don’t come around often,” he said.

Krishna believes this selection marks a positive step for Fiji football’s future and hopes the current group can stay together to foster long-term growth and stability. “Hopefully, this team can stay together for a longer period. As I always say, we need to build not just for this tournament but for the future.”

Looking ahead, Krishna urged the players to arrive at camps and fixtures in peak condition, both physically and mentally. He reminded them that international competition demands a higher level of intensity and professionalism than domestic play.

“It’s up to the boys now to get their fitness back, recover well, and come prepared, because international level is completely different from playing here,” he said. Acknowledging that this is a young team, he added: “I’d just say to them: enjoy it. If you get the opportunity, you’re very fortunate and lucky to represent your country.”

Krishna closed by underscoring the pride of wearing the jersey, and urged players to honor their families and nation if they are selected for the final squad.
