Weather Report
Bringing you news from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at the early hour of 5:30am on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
Hold on to your umbrellas and raincoats, folks! A HEAVY RAIN WARNING is still in plain sight for the Northern and Eastern parts of Fiji. But good news for the rest of the nation – the rain here has thrown in the towel and packed up its bags! Just as everyone knows, life isn’t only about gloomy clouds; we’ve got other forecasts to lighten the mood!
Speaking of rainy antics, a FLASH FLOOD WARNING is still giving everyone a friendly nudge for all those low-lying and flood-prone areas. So, make sure your favorite pair of gumboots are ready to dance because puddles could be coming for a visit!
What’s cooking in the weather pot? Well, an active trough of low pressure is making itself at home over the Northern and Eastern parts and has decided to waltz eastward. Until later today, these regions will be nudged by clouds, showers, and possibly some dramatic thunderclaps!
Let’s look at what you can expect for the Fiji group today, up until midnight:
– Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and their smaller island pals, along with Lau and Lomaiviti, can expect some heavy rain and maybe a lightning show or two. Rain will take a bow and transform into showers later today.
– Just a heads up – localized heavy falls might lead to flash flooding of low-lying areas. So avoid swimming where the ground wasn’t designed for it.
– The Serua-Namosi area leading through Suva up to Korovou can look forward to cloudy moments and a few showers, with isolated thunderstorms trying to crash the party.
– Elsewhere? Partly cloudy with brief associations in showering. Moderate winds will keep everyone on their toes while moderate seas are likely to be washing over.
Looking ahead to Friday, you might want a light sweater as cloudy periods and a few showers will hang about in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Lau, Lomaiviti, and other charming districts. Expect clear skies elsewhere, but those isolated afternoon or evening showers might just pop in to say hello.
