Roselyn Sidal Returns to the Stage: Miss Hibiscus 2024 Awaits!

Roselyn Clair Sidal, crowned Hibiscus Teen Queen in 2017, is preparing to return to the spotlight at the 68th annual Hibiscus Festival, where she will compete in the esteemed Queens Category.

This year, Sidal is proudly supported by Island Accommodation, a cozy lodging situated in downtown Suva. The 23-year-old former student of Bhawani Dayal Arya College is close to finishing her bachelor’s degree in social work and journalism, which complements her dedication to public advocacy and community service.

Since participating in the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement Girls Program in 2013, Sidal has remained a committed advocate for equality, using her studies to promote these values. In addition to her advocacy work, she is actively involved in sports, aiming to empower women and girls by ensuring they have equal opportunities to participate. She plays on various sports teams, including the Senior Suva Women’s soccer team, Nasinu Netball, and Northland Tailevu Women’s Futsal.

In addition to her advocacy and athletic pursuits, Sidal celebrates her Fijian heritage and South Indian roots through traditional singing and dancing, reflecting the rich cultural diversity of her community.

Looking ahead, Roselyn aspires to create her own NGO that leverages creative arts for advocacy, believing that artistic expression can effectively highlight community issues, share impactful narratives, and inspire social change.

As she embarks on her journey in the Miss Hibiscus 2024 competition, Sidal receives support from the festival’s Gold Sponsors, FMF and Vodafone.
