Romania’s centrist mayor of Bucharest, Nicusor Dan, is on track to win the presidential elections in a surprising outcome against hard-right candidate George Simion, who had campaigned on nationalist and eurosceptic principles similar to those of former U.S. President Donald Trump. With around 98% of votes tallied, Dan has secured about 54% of the votes, while Simion follows closely with 46%.
