Roland Williams Triumphs in The Voice Australia Battles!

Former Marist Brothers High School student Roland Williams has advanced in The Voice Australia after a successful performance in the Battles stage, where he bested Jaydin Shingleton. The competition featured the duo singing “Lose Control,” a hit by US artist Teddy Swims, who expressed his excitement in a video message, saying he was “absolutely honoured and thrilled” to hear their interpretation of his song.

After their performances, coach Guy Sebastian noted that Williams seemed to be more comfortable with the material, indicating a clear edge in their showdown.

Williams has been making waves in the music industry since 2007, when he debuted in Fiji as part of the band One2Eight. He later moved to New Zealand and achieved significant recognition in 2009 by winning Maori Television’s popular singing competition, Homai Te Pakipaki, with his rendition of Billy Paul’s classic “Me And Mrs Jones.”
