Roland Williams, a former student of Marist Brothers High School, has successfully advanced in The Voice Australia after defeating Jaydin Shingleton in the Battles stage of the competition.

Under the guidance of their coach Guy Sebastian, they performed the song “Lose Control” by US artist Teddy Swims. In a video message, Swims expressed his excitement and pride in hearing how the duo would interpret his song.

After their performance, Guy Sebastian noted that Roland Williams appeared to be more comfortable with the song, highlighting his standout performance.

Williams first gained recognition in the Fijian music scene in 2007 as a member of the Suva-based band One2Eight. He later moved to New Zealand, where he captured attention by winning Maori Television’s popular singing contest, Homai Te Pakipaki, in 2009 with his rendition of Billy Paul’s classic hit “Me And Mrs Jones.”
