Naitasiri flyhalf Etonia Rokotuisawa emphasizes the importance of strong communication as the Skipper Select squad prepares to unite players from different provincial teams. With the much-anticipated Shop N Save Supermarket Super Rugby Pacific pre-season match against the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua on the horizon, Rokotuisawa asserts that clear and consistent communication is essential for achieving strong on-field performances.

As the team faces the challenge of merging players with varying backgrounds and systems, Rokotuisawa believes that their success hinges on how quickly they can build connections and communicate effectively. He acknowledges the difficulties posed by this integration but remains optimistic about their ability to overcome them.

“Communication has been quite difficult and that’s what we will try to work on this week. We have three weeks left before the pre-season match, and as long as our off-field communication is okay, we should be fine on the field. If we cannot communicate well, then we will definitely have difficulties adjusting as we move forward with preparations,” he said.

Rokotuisawa expressed gratitude to the Fiji Rugby Union for creating this opportunity for provincial players and acknowledged the Drua management for the upcoming challenge. He also encourages the public to show their support by attending the match, which is scheduled for 4 PM on the 6th of next month at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

As the teams prepare to clash, the emphasis on teamwork and communication highlights the unity that sports can foster, bringing together players and fans in a shared experience that embodies the spirit of rugby.
