Amen Thompson and Jalen Green delivered a standout performance for the Houston Rockets, combining for 46 points in a decisive 118-106 victory against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. Thompson was especially impressive, scoring 25 points on 12-of-15 shooting and also contributing nine rebounds and five assists. Green added 21 points to help secure the Rockets their third win of the season against the Spurs, completing a 3-1 season series victory.

Dillon Brooks also played a crucial role, scoring 19 points thanks to five shots from beyond the arc. Despite the Spurs’ efforts, with bench players Keldon Johnson and rookie Stephon Castle both scoring 22 points, they fell short, marking their fourth consecutive loss. Castle’s contribution included seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals, helping the Spurs generate 79 points from their bench alone.

The Rockets started strong, leading by as many as 17 points in the first quarter and ending the period with a 34-20 advantage. Brooks ignited the offense with two consecutive three-pointers, and the starters shot an impressive 13 of 18 from the floor. As the game progressed, Johnson and Castle attempted to close the gap for the Spurs, but Houston consistently maintained control, extending their lead before halftime to 64-46.

This victory seems to shine a light on the Rockets’ ability to perform under pressure, showcasing their potential for growth as the season unfolds. With players like Thompson and Green continually stepping up, fans can remain hopeful as the team looks to build on this momentum in future games. Meanwhile, the Spurs will need to regroup, especially as they search for solutions to reverse their troubling trend of losses.
