Two men, aged 29 and 27, have been charged with aggravated robbery after an alleged break-in at a Tamavua residence last month. The incident occurred on October 30, when the duo reportedly entered the home of a 46-year-old man, stealing cash, a mobile phone, and other personal belongings before fleeing the scene.
The suspects were apprehended last week and subsequently appeared in Suva Magistrates Court on November 4, where the court ordered that they remain in custody until their next court date on November 18.
This case underscores the ongoing commitment of local authorities to combat the increasing frequency of home invasions in the area, reflecting a community-focused approach to improving safety and security.
In a positive light, local law enforcement’s decisive action in apprehending the suspects demonstrates their dedication to ensuring public safety and restoring peace of mind for residents. Efforts to enhance community awareness and preventative measures may contribute to a decline in such incidents in the future.
