Rob Rush, the second son of legendary New Zealand sevens player Eric Rush, has joined the All Blacks Sevens team in Cape Town. This addition comes in the wake of New Zealand’s recent performance, where they faced a disappointing 14-0 defeat against Argentina during the bronze medal playoff at the Dubai Sevens, leading to the loss of key players Joe Webber and Andrew Knewstubb.
Rob will step in for Webber, while Fletcher Carpenter has been brought in to replace Knewstubb. Fans are particularly excited about the possibility of seeing Rob and his brother Brady play together during the tournament.
Looking ahead, the All Blacks Sevens are set to face the USA Sevens in their opening match at 11:54 PM tomorrow night, followed by a game against France Sevens at 3:35 AM on Sunday morning.
This situation offers a chance for new talent to shine under pressure, and fans have every reason to feel hopeful as they support Rob in his potential debut, continuing a family legacy in the sport.
