Rob Rush, the second son of New Zealand rugby legend Eric Rush, has officially joined the All Blacks Sevens team in Cape Town. His inclusion follows the unfortunate injury of senior players Joe Webber and Andrew Knewstubb during last weekend’s bronze medal match against Argentina at the Dubai 7s, where New Zealand lost 14-0.

Rob has stepped in to take Webber’s place, while Fletcher Carpenter replaces Knewstubb. There is a palpable excitement among New Zealand fans, who are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to see Rob play alongside his brother, Brady, during the tournament.

The All Blacks Sevens are set to face the USA Sevens in their opening match at 11:54 PM tonight, followed by a game against France Sevens at 3:35 AM on Sunday morning.

This exciting development highlights the depth of talent within New Zealand’s rugby teams and the potential for family legacies to continue within the sport. Fans can look forward to witnessing a thrilling show of skill and camaraderie as Rob Rush embarks on his rugby journey.
