The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has scheduled maintenance and improvement works on major roads in the Suva area from May 7 to May 10, 2025. Key locations affected include MacGregor Road, the Kalabu Tax-Free Zone, and Fletcher Road. The work will be conducted in both day and night shifts to maximize efficiency and minimize disruption.

The purpose of these roadworks is to enhance infrastructure conditions and demonstrate FRA’s ongoing commitment to road safety and operational efficiency throughout the capital.

Here’s a detailed work schedule:

**MacGregor Road**
– **May 7:** Night shift from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM
– **May 10:** Night shift from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM

**Kalabu Tax-Free Zone**
– **May 8:** Day shift from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
– **May 9:** Day shift from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and a night shift from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM
– **May 10:** Day shift from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

**Fletcher Road (Statham to Laucala Bay)**
– **May 8:** Night shift from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM

Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly. Traffic management teams will be present in all active work zones to ensure safety and smooth navigation through the construction areas.

The FRA urges the public to stay updated via their official channels and provides a toll-free number for inquiries: 5720 (open weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM).

This initiative follows previous infrastructure improvement efforts in areas like Rewa Street and McGregor Road, which have also aimed to enhance road safety and efficiency. These upgrades, while temporarily inconvenient, promise long-term benefits for the community by paving the way for safer and more reliable transportation networks in Fiji.

The improvements exemplify the FRA’s dedication to creating safer driving environments, contributing to smoother travel experiences in the near future.
