RKS Rising Star Joins Fiji 7s Training Ahead of Dubai 7s

Lemeki Ravukivuki, the head boy of Ratu Kadavulevu School, is seeing the fruits of his hard work as he has been called into the national 7s extended squad. The talented athlete from Kabariki village in Kadavu previously captained his school’s under-18 team to victory at the Vodafone Deans Trophy, reinforcing his status as a rising star in Fijian rugby.

Ravukivuki, along with his teammate Suliano Savenaca, is among the select few from the RKS U18 squad participating in national training. He expressed his excitement over learning from some of the best rugby players, both in the country and globally. “What I’m looking for is teamwork. I told the boys, I can’t rely on talent; we’re all X factors. If we can connect and work together well as a team, then Dubai will be a very good outing,” he noted.

This integration into the training squad comes at a pivotal moment as the national men’s 7s side prepares to leave for the Dubai 7s tournament on Sunday. The inclusion of emerging players like Ravukivuki and Savenaca not only showcases their potential but also emphasizes the ongoing efforts of Ratu Kadavulevu School to nurture talented athletes for higher competition.

In light of previous successes by the school’s teams, such as their U17 squad, which recently triumphed in the Vodafone Super Deans, Ravukivuki’s journey reflects a broader trend of youth development in Fijian rugby. The enthusiasm surrounding this new generation of players brings a sense of hope and excitement, as they look to make their mark on the international stage.

As these young athletes train and bond, they not only prepare for the immediate challenges of the Dubai 7s but also inspire future generations of Fijian rugby talent. The commitment they display highlights the importance of teamwork and collective success, which is essential as they navigate the competitive landscape ahead.
