The Coalition Government is collaborating with key stakeholders to provide essential assistance to the residents of River Road in Narere and Sawani in Naitasiri, who were impacted by recent flooding and a landslide. Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Sakiasi, visited the affected families yesterday to explore how the Government can help in their recovery efforts.
He praised the families for their resilience in the face of these challenges. “We will be working with the Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant government stakeholders. Moving forward, we will identify solutions to the issues of flooding,” Minister Ditoka stated.
He acknowledged that a long-term solution is necessary but assured that interim measures will be considered. The Minister was joined by the Permanent Secretary for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Isoa Talemaibua, Commissioner Central Division (CCD) Josefa Navuku, and representatives from other essential government agencies located in the Central Division.
