Fifteen-year-old Nehemiah Elder is gearing up for the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship set to take place in Fiji from September 17 to 21. As the event approaches, Nehemiah is diligently training and feeling optimistic as he prepares to compete in the 89kg category, aiming to represent Fiji on an international platform.
Hailing from a family of weightlifting champions, Nehemiah is following the legacy of his father and head coach, Henry Elder, as well as his older brothers. Despite his youth, he has already established himself in the sport by breaking three Oceania records in the 73kg division. Now, as he transitions to a higher weight class, Nehemiah is more determined than ever to bring pride to Fiji.
