Two promising national under-20 representatives, Breyton Legge and John Muller, received thrilling news yesterday as they were signed to the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua development program for the 2025 season.
Legge, a talented loosehead prop, shared his excitement about the opportunity to represent his country and compete in the Super Rugby competition, realizing a lifelong aspiration. “It feels great. I’ve always dreamed of playing for my country and playing in the Super Rugby competition,” Legge expressed.
With nine appearances for the Fiji Under-20 team and a recent participation in the U20 World Rugby Championship, Legge has showcased his talent and dedication to the sport.
Muller, another rising star, has also gained valuable experience by representing Fiji in the U20 World Cup and playing a key role in the Fiji Warriors’ success in the Pacific Rugby Cup in 2023. “It is a dream come true, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Fijian Drua. I can’t wait to start training with the team,” Muller stated.
Ifereimi Rawaqa, Fijian Drua Development and Skills Coach, praised their transition from the Fiji Rugby High-Performance Unit program to the Drua Development team. Rawaqa highlighted Legge’s skill and adaptability, along with Muller’s hard-working nature and aggressive playing style, pointing out their potential for growth and success with further professional training through the Drua program.
In the past two years, development players such as Livai Natave, Philip Baselala, Taniela Rakuro, Motikiai Murray, Mesake Vocevoce, and Sikeli Rabitu have been given opportunities to secure contracts in the esteemed Super Rugby Pacific competition.
