Two promising national under-20 representatives, Breyton Legge and John Muller, received exciting news yesterday as they were officially signed to join the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua development program for the upcoming 2025 season.
Legge, a talented loosehead prop, expressed his enthusiasm about the opportunity to represent his country and compete in the Super Rugby competition, describing it as a lifelong dream come true. “It feels great. I’ve always dreamed of playing for my country and playing in the Super Rugby competition,” Legge stated.
Having made nine appearances for the Fiji Under-20 team and recently participating in the U20 World Rugby Championship, Legge has shown his talent and dedication to the sport.
Muller, another promising athlete, has already accumulated valuable experience by representing Fiji in the U20 World Cup and contributing to the Fiji Warriors’ success in the Pacific Rugby Cup in 2023. “It is a dream come true, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Fijian Drua. I can’t wait to start training with the team,” Muller said.
Regarding their selection, Fijian Drua Development and Skills Coach Ifereimi Rawaqa commended their journey from the Fiji Rugby High-Performance Unit to the Drua Development team. Rawaqa highlighted Legge’s skills and adaptability, as well as Muller’s strong work ethic and aggressive playing style, emphasizing their potential for further growth and success through continued professional development with the Drua program.
Over the past two years, development players like Livai Natave, Philip Baselala, Taniela Rakuro, Motikiai Murray, Mesake Vocevoce, and Sikeli Rabitu have been given opportunities to secure contracts in the prestigious Super Rugby Pacific competition.
