The inaugural day of the 2024 Tuckers Ice-Cream Fiji Primary Schools Athletics Championships brought together a host of talented young athletes at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium. Participants from various districts showcased their skills in running, jumping, and throwing events amidst a challenging mix of weather conditions that included overcast skies, sporadic showers, and ultimately, a heavy downpour by day’s end.
Suva One took the lead in the boys’ medal tally with a total of four medals, consisting of one gold, one silver, and two bronze. Meanwhile, Nadi emerged as the front-runner in the girls’ category, securing three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze.
The competition is set to conclude today, promising another day of exciting athletic displays that not only highlight the skill and determination of the young athletes but also foster a spirit of camaraderie and friendly rivalry among the participating districts.
