Fijian Drua winger Ponipate Loganimasi is garnering attention for his impressive performances in the Super Rugby Pacific season. He has expressed gratitude towards his teammates for their support in creating opportunities for him to showcase his skills and score tries. Currently, Loganimasi is third in the competition for clean breaks, having achieved 19.

Recently, he excelled at the Drua Awards Night held in Nadi, where he received three significant accolades: Rookie of the Year, Men’s Moment of the Year Award, and Fan Player of the Year Award. After being awarded these titles, Loganimasi emphasized the team’s collective effort in his achievements, stating, “It’s a team sport, and my teammates always help me score tries.”

Loganimasi, an Olympic silver medalist, has made an impactful contribution to the Drua’s journey this season. As the league progresses, three teams—Waratahs, Blues, and Moana Pasifika—are vying for the final playoff spot, with the Drua currently out of contention. They are set to face the Reds on Saturday, which they will broadcast live on FBC Sports.

The season thus far showcases not only Loganimasi’s promise as a rising star in rugby but also highlights the importance of teamwork and community support in sports. His awards symbolize a bright future for both him personally and for the Fijian rugby scene as a whole, inspiring younger athletes to pursue their dreams in the sport.
