Mitieli Vasikali Kaloudroweti discovered his passion for the tourism industry when he began his internship at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa two years ago. He has since advanced to the role of digital marketing executive, where he merges strategy with creativity. In his position, he focuses on creating digital content, managing social media, analyzing campaign performance, and collaborating on event promotions to ensure consistent messaging.
At 28 years old, Kaloudroweti comes from Naloto in Verata, with family ties to Sikituru Village in Nadi. He is the youngest of four siblings and holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management and tourism management from the University of the South Pacific. During his internship, he worked first with the talent and culture department—a branch of human resources—and later shifted to the front office, where he engaged directly with guests, enhancing his social skills and understanding the importance of guest comfort.
After his internship, he moved into a role as learning and development executive, where he trained staff, developed educational opportunities, ensured safety compliance, and managed the training budget. He found satisfaction in empowering his colleagues and seeing their growth, viewing the challenges he faced as rewarding experiences that taught him perseverance and adaptability.
Kaloudroweti encourages young people aspiring to similar careers to stay curious and seize opportunities for hands-on experience. He emphasizes the importance of being adaptable to change and patient, noting that success often requires time and hard work.
