Fifteen-year-old Nehemiah Elder is gearing up for the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship, set to take place in Fiji from September 17 to 21. With the competition on the horizon, Nehemiah is intensifying his training and feels confident about competing in the 89kg category, ready to represent Fiji on an international level.
Nehemiah hails from a lineage of weightlifting excellence, inspired by his father and coach, Henry Elder, along with his older brothers, who have all made significant contributions to the sport. Despite his youth, Nehemiah has already gained recognition by breaking three Oceania records in the 73kg category. As he transitions to a heavier division, he is more determined than ever to make his country proud.
