Fifteen-year-old Nehemiah Elder is gearing up for the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship in Fiji, set to take place from September 17 to 21. As the event draws near, Nehemiah is intensely training and feeling optimistic as he prepares to compete in the 89kg category, representing Fiji on an international platform.
Nehemiah hails from a family of weightlifting champions, following the legacy of his father and head coach, Henry Elder, and his older brothers. Despite his young age, he has already gained recognition by breaking three Oceania records in the 73kg division. Now, with his move to a heavier weight class, he is more determined than ever to honor his country.
