Discipline and passion have driven Muizz Mujib Buksh to achieve remarkable success, culminating in multiple awards at the Vunimoli Islamia College (VIC) prizegiving ceremony held on Wednesday. As the head boy of VIC in Labasa, Muizz received the distinguished Leadership Award, recognition for obtaining the highest mark in Agricultural Science, an athletics award, and a special commendation for his contributions to the school’s football team.

Currently a Year 13 student, Muizz boasts an impressive athletic profile, having secured a gold medal in the 3000 meters at the Macuata athletics zone two competition and participated in the 3000m final at the prestigious Coca-Cola Games.

In discussing how he manages to balance his academic responsibilities with sports, Muizz attributed much of his success to the encouragement and support of his parents. He operates under the mantra that “nothing is impossible,” and aims to motivate his peers to pursue their dreams and bring pride to their school, just as he has through his involvement in athletics and leadership roles.

Expressing gratitude for the backing he has received from teachers, parents, and classmates, Muizz also shared his ambition of becoming a veterinarian. He plans to further his education by applying to Massey University in New Zealand next year.
