Prashantika Prasad, a 22-year-old aspiring model, is focused on enhancing her self-confidence as she competes for the Miss Fiji Universe 2024 title in Mexico later this year. Currently a fourth-year MBBS student at the University of Fiji in Lautoka, Prasad seeks to utilize this pageant as a unique opportunity for personal growth.
“I entered this pageant to take up an opportunity that does not always come by in hopes of becoming more confident,” she remarked, emphasizing her desire to inspire others to build self-confidence and take advantage of available opportunities. She believes that while spontaneous experiences can be intimidating, they contribute significantly to personal development.
Prasad aims to create awareness and support for establishing a more resilient society that empowers youth through education, rehabilitation, and assistance for individuals battling mental health challenges and drug addiction. Her ambition is to complete her studies and become a healthcare provider.
She expressed admiration for the contestants who pursue such prominent platforms, highlighting the significance of female unity and the lessons learned from fellow competitors.
A former deputy head girl at Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College in Nadi, Prasad participated in her school’s band, performing lead vocals for their official music video. She is also an accomplished singer like her father, Shalendra Shambu Prasad, and is an active member of the University of Fiji’s musical band. In addition to her artistic pursuits, she enjoys playing tennis and engaging in community service during medical camps.
