Rising Star: Fiji’s Youngest Olympic Taekwondo Fighter Shines in Paris

Lolohea Naitasi from Team Fiji has made headlines as the youngest Taekwondo athlete at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 17-year-old expressed immense gratitude for the support she received from her team and fellow athletes from Oceania during her Olympic debut at the Grande Palais in Paris.

Naitasi reflected on her performance, stating that this match was her best yet, attributing her success to the advice of her coach, Master Ra, to savor every moment of her competition. Unfortunately, she faced a tough challenge against the world number five, Julyana Alsadeq from Jordan, and was unable to secure a victory.

Despite this, Naitasi has already made history as one of the first Fijians to qualify in Taekwondo for the Olympics, and she is now setting her sights on the upcoming LA 2028 Games.
