Sixteen-year-old Annie May from Savusavu FC has been appointed as the captain of the Digicel Fiji Junior Kulas for the upcoming OFC U-16 Women’s Championship. She will be assisted by vice-captain Ulamila Rasovsova as the team prepares for the tournament, which will begin this Sunday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Teams from Samoa, New Zealand, Tonga, Cook Islands, Tahiti, and Solomon Islands have already arrived in Fiji and are acclimating ahead of the competition. The New Caledonia team, however, has experienced flight delays but is expected to join the other teams soon. The Fiji squad, coached by Marika Rodu, is scheduled to play against Tonga in their opening match of the championship at 3 pm this Sunday.
