Fijian Drua player Tuidraki Samusamuvodre is optimistic about the upcoming 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season after enduring a challenging year due to an ankle injury. Samusamuvodre was sidelined throughout the previous season following his injury during the season opener against the Blues in Whangarei, Auckland, where he had been expected to shine as a standout player at the No.12 position.

Despite the setback, he made a promising return to the field with Nadi in the Skipper Cup competition and the Inkk Mobile Farebrother Challenge. Reflecting on his recovery journey, the former captain of the Fiji Warriors expressed his disappointment about missing out on opportunities to contribute to his team’s success, particularly at No.12, a position he has played before.

He noted that recovery was not easy; he had to undergo scans due to damage to the veins in his ankle, which significantly delayed his return. Although he contemplated having surgery, he ultimately chose to focus on rehabilitation to ensure his full recovery. Samusamuvodre is ready to adapt to the coach’s strategies moving forward.

Looking ahead, Samusamuvodre’s determination and resilience are commendable. His journey from injury to recovery highlights the strength of an athlete’s spirit, and fans will likely be eager to see him back in action next season. With a focused approach to his training and a commitment to the team’s objectives, there is every reason to believe that he can make a significant impact on the field in the 2025 season.
