“Rising Boxer Jonathan Hill Aims for Knockout Victory in South Pacific Showdown”

Jonathan Hill is eager to extend his winning streak in his second professional bout against Labasa’s Rupeni Rokoratu in the upcoming South Pacific boxing promotion in Labasa.

“Preparation has been good, and we’re always ready, Winston (my younger brother) and I,” Hill stated. “My strategy for this fight is to knock out Rokoratu and improve my ranking.”

Hill is eyeing a title fight, contingent upon his victory over Rokoratu. “This will be my first time fighting Rokoratu, and it’s akin to amateur boxing where we just step into the ring and handle business,” he mentioned. “My son will be my motivation to win.”

Focusing on his own abilities and strength, rather than studying his opponent, Hill said, “It’s been great having my younger brother Winston involved in my preparation. I guess it adds to my opponent’s caution.”

This bout will also mark Hill’s debut fight in Labasa. He previously secured a victory in his first professional bout in the super middleweight division against Donasio Macedru at the Lewis Hill boxing promotions in Vodafone Arena, Suva, last year.

“My goal is to improve my fitness during preparation to secure a win,” he said. “I was not fully fit in my last fight, but I still got the job done.”

Having gained some experience from his initial professional bout, Hill is now setting his sights on the super middleweight title of Fiji after his match with Rokoratu, and possibly the light heavyweight title as well. “We’ll see who holds the title; I plan to challenge them.”

Hill’s ambition and preparation reflect his determination to climb higher in the boxing ranks, motivated by personal goals and the support of his family.
