A 28-year-old man faces charges for allegedly raping his five-year-old niece, while a 29-year-old man has been charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving his 15-year-old niece. This information comes from the latest statistics released by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) concerning rape and sexual offenses for September.
According to the ODPP, a total of 10 individuals were charged with 25 counts of various sexual offenses in September. The charges included 16 counts of rape, 2 counts of attempted rape, 2 counts of indecent assault, and 5 counts of sexual assault.
Out of the reported cases, there were 10 victims, with eight of them being under the age of 18. The report noted that there were two male victims and eight female victims.
Additionally, a 46-year-old man was charged with two counts of raping his 41-year-old wife. In another case, a 20-year-old man faces four counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault involving his 17-year-old cousin.
Another individual, a 29-year-old man, has been charged with the attempted rape and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl from his village, while a 20-year-old man has been charged with the rape of an 11-year-old girl from his community.
Furthermore, two cases were discontinued after Nolle Prosequi motions were filed due to a lack of sufficient evidence, and the victims could not be contacted or located.
