Alumita Nawanitu, a 21-year-old student from Nubumakita, Nalawa, Ra, recently celebrated her graduation in Bachelor of Commerce with a focus on Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management at Fiji National University. The graduation ceremony took place at Vodafone Arena in Suva.
Reflecting on her journey, Alumita expressed her gratitude for the support of her family and friends throughout her studies. Despite the challenges she faced, especially during the tough financial times over the past three years, she emphasized the importance of determination and resilience. “I wish to dedicate this diploma to my two younger siblings. Although they are not here today due to work commitments, I hope my education will inspire them,” she shared.
Alumita stressed that her studies have significantly shaped her life, noting that she never felt alone, as her extended support system remained by her side throughout her academic journey. As she looks forward, she is actively seeking job opportunities to help support her family in further pursuing their education.
She encouraged her peers to remain steadfast in the pursuit of their goals, asserting that no challenge is insurmountable with a steadfast spirit and hard work. Her story serves as a powerful reminder of the rewards that come with perseverance and the impact of a supportive community.
