Christopher Wasasala, head coach of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), expressed his disappointment after their team suffered a significant defeat to the Police, with a score of 6-1 in Suva yesterday. Acknowledging the disappointment, he apologized to their supporters and emphasized the need for increased backing for the RFMF football squad in future competitions.

Wasasala viewed the loss as a chance for growth and improvement. He stated, “We lacked experience, and we’ll try to bring in more seasoned players next year,” signaling a commitment to strengthen the team for the future. Poor communication during the game was also noted as a factor contributing to the overwhelming loss. Despite the setback, Wasasala praised his players for their efforts and congratulated the Police team on their victory.

After three weeks of intensive training in preparation for the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl football competition, Wasasala is now focused on setting new goals. He affirmed, “The loss is behind us now, but we’ll work hard for next year and come back stronger.”

In summary, while the RFMF faced a tough defeat, the team’s leadership is already looking ahead, motivated to enhance their performance and build a more competitive side for the next season. This reflects a positive attitude towards acknowledging shortfalls and striving for progress, showcasing the resilience of the team. By focusing on improvement and the significance of community support, the RFMF can transform this challenging experience into a stepping stone for future success.
