Christopher Wasasala expressed his disappointment following the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) team’s significant 6-1 defeat to the Police in Suva yesterday. While acknowledging the loss, he extended his apologies to their supporters, stating, “We need more support for the RFMF football side to help us next year.”

Wasasala views the match’s outcome as a learning experience, fueling their determination to return stronger in 2025. He pointed out that the team struggled with a lack of experience and poor communication during the game. Nevertheless, he thanked his players for their effort and congratulated the Police team on their victory.

The RFMF had dedicated three weeks to training in preparation for the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl football competition. Wasasala emphasized that the team is now looking ahead, committed to improving and coming back more competitive in the next season.

This determination to learn from setbacks and grow is a commendable aspect of sports. The RFMF’s proactive approach in seeking to enhance their squad with experienced players and fostering better communication bodes well for their future endeavors.

In summary, while the loss was disappointing, it serves as a stepping stone for the RFMF team to build resilience and aim for future success.
