RFMF Teams Up: Navy Albatross and Army Bears Eye Ratu Sukuna Bowl

The Republic of Fiji Military Force (RFMF) is gearing up for an exciting showcase in the upcoming Ratu Sukuna Bowl Rugby League competition, with their top rugby league units, the Navy Albatross and the Army Bears, uniting to represent the military force. The team is under the guidance of Head Coach Sevanaia Koroi, an experienced rugby league player who is taking charge of their preparations for the tournament.

Training is currently underway, with sessions designed to emphasize the strengths of the RFMF as the players build camaraderie and enhance teamwork. Coach Koroi mentioned that the Navy Albatross is also actively preparing for the Fijian Cup 9s, working alongside the Rise Rookies to improve fitness levels and on-field synergy.

Koroi emphasized the key values of discipline, unity, and commitment as the squad focuses intently on achieving success in both the Ratu Sukuna Bowl and the Fijian Cup 9s. The Ratu Sukuna Bowl is set to be held from October 17 to 18, while the Ratu Sukuna Bowl Rugby Challenge, which promotes friendly competition between the RFMF and the Fiji Police Force, will follow on October 22 at Subrail Park in Labasa.

This collaborative effort among the military units underscores the spirit of cooperation and support that characterizes the RFMF, especially as they prepare for a series of significant events. The enthusiasm surrounding the Ratu Sukuna Bowl reflects not only the competitive nature of the sport but also the deeper values of building community and resilience within Fiji’s military, creating hope for a promising performance ahead.
