As the third day of the Ratu Sukuna Bowl unfolds, the RFMF Army Wives have successfully secured their Netball title once again, defeating the Police Wives in a closely contested match with a score of 25 to 22 at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.

In addition, the Army Servers 2 celebrated their victory over Police Servers 2, scoring 44 to 29. The team coach for Army Wives, Seini Naigatogato, expressed her gratitude towards the senior members of the team who stepped in to guide the squad throughout this season, helping them retain their prestigious title.

Naigatogato emphasized the importance of teamwork and shared experiences, stating, “I thank the Army Wives Club for supporting the team this year. This year we had to get some old players to come and share their experiences with the new ones so we’re hoping that by next year, we will get some new players.”

Venina Naigatogato, the captain of Army Servers 2, echoed this sentiment, praising her team’s unity during the tense match against their competitors. “I’m very proud of the girls for the effort they put in, as it was a very tense competition,” she said. Their win was particularly meaningful as last year, Police Servers 2 claimed the title.

Emotions ran high for Naigatogato as she dedicated the team’s win to all Army Servers deployed globally, particularly honoring the memory of the Late Private Lawanigusu, who recently succumbed to cancer. “Today’s win is dedicated to all the Servers around the world, especially to our comrade that passed away last Thursday,” she remarked.

The Ratu Sukuna Bowl Netball competition is set to conclude today, and the achievements of the RFMF teams signify not only their athletic talent but also their strong sense of community and camaraderie.

This event showcases not only competitive spirit but also highlights the importance of teamwork and remembrance within the military community, fostering a sense of unity and support among all participants. As they prepare for future competitions, the spirit of collaboration and support will undoubtedly continue to shine.
