Rewa’s Coach Insists There’s More to Come After Dominating 4-0 Win

Rewa’s head football coach Roderick Singh acknowledges that despite the team’s impressive 4-0 victory against Nasinu in the 13th round of the Digicel Fiji Premier League, there remains significant work ahead. The match took place at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori, where Rewa showcased dominance from the outset. Captain Setareki Hughes opened the scoring with a well-executed goal, leading to a 1-0 advantage at halftime.

In the second half, Rewa continued their strong performance, with additional goals from Tevita Warainivalu, John Orobulu, and Iosefo Verevou solidifying their commanding win against Nasinu. Singh commended the players for their efforts but stressed the importance of improvement, highlighting missed opportunities during the game.

“The match against Nasinu was good; we started slow in the first half, but I want to thank the boys for their great performance,” Singh stated. “There’s still much work to be done; we clearly missed quite a few chances, but I’m grateful for the boys and their efforts.”

He added, “My message to the team at halftime was to stop playing casually and step up the intensity, which they did effectively in the second half.”

Looking ahead to the next round, Singh is optimistic that the team will return stronger and better prepared, expressing appreciation to the supporters and fans, dedicating the victory to them.
