As Rewa gears up to launch their campaign in the Fiji FA Women’s Inter-District Championship, their recent efforts have centered on enhancing fitness, fostering team unity, and promoting youth development.

Head coach and player Naomi Waqanidrola has shared that the team is diligently working to regain their rhythm after an off-season break. Several players have only recently returned from holiday commitments outside the Nausori area, which adds an extra layer of challenge to their preparations.

With the IDC being the first significant tournament of the year, Waqanidrola acknowledges the difficulties of starting strong in the early season but remains optimistic about the team’s direction. “The focus right now is getting everyone back in shape after a long break since the 2025 season. Some of the girls traveled out to spend the holidays with their families, so it’s been about bringing the team back together and preparing for the IDC,” she stated.

Rewa will kick off their tournament against Ba Women FC tomorrow at 12pm at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa. Following this match, they will take on Labasa Women FC on Saturday before concluding their group stage with a game against Suva Women FC on Sunday.

This tournament not only serves as a platform for seasoned players but also presents a valuable opportunity for younger athletes, with several Under-19 players stepping into the senior competition. Despite the departure of a few senior players, Rewa Women’s FC continues to prioritize long-term development and the establishment of consistency within the squad.

The team’s focus on integrating young talent while striving for success in the tournament reflects a promising future for Rewa Women’s FC. Their commitment to fitness and teamwork showcases the dedication required to excel in competitive football while nurturing the next generation of players.
