Rewa House emerged victorious at the 2025 QVS Old Boys Druavesi Golf Tournament, claiming the esteemed Druavesi Trophy with an impressive performance at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva over the weekend. The team, led by notable players including Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, Tomasi Tuitoga, Trevor Nainoca, and Jiujiu Leca from Rewa One, alongside Alipate Vosaicake, Tupou Leca, DA Echo, and Serevi Vanalagi from Rewa Two, achieved a remarkable combined score of 116, narrowly surpassing Verata House, which finished with 118.125.

In a strong showing, Tovata House secured third place with a score of 127.875, while Bau House came in fourth with 129.125. This year’s tournament marked a record-breaking 32nd edition, witnessing a participation of 92 players across 23 teams—the highest turnout since the event’s inception in 1993, reflecting its growing popularity among alumni.

The event was organized by the QVS Old Boys Association, fostering a spirit of inclusivity and camaraderie among former students from various schools across Fiji. Notably, this year included teams from eight QVSOB alumni, six from Marist Old Boys, five from Suva Grammar Old Scholars, and representations from MGM, ACS, Natabua, and Labasa College.

A key highlight of the tournament was the inclusion of 12 women participants, making up 12 percent of the field, a significant advancement in promoting gender inclusivity in the sport. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka commended the unity and diversity exhibited at the event, emphasizing the importance of such gatherings for reconnecting alumni and contributing to Fiji’s development.

“This tournament is more than just golf – it’s a platform for former students to reconnect, share ideas, and contribute to the development of our beloved Fiji,” he stated.

The overall competition was competitive, with the Grammar Lions claiming the top position with a score of 55.38; they were followed closely by Marist Two on 55.875 and Rewa Two on 56.75.

The 2025 Druavesi Golf Tournament not only underscored the strength of alumni connections but also set a promising tone for the future, paving the way for an even more competitive and inclusive event next year. The growing participation signifies a hopeful trajectory for the tournament, enriching the community’s engagement in sports and supporting lasting friendships among alumni.
