Four new players have joined the Rewa football men’s team, bringing fresh energy as they prepare to face Labasa in the Pillay Garments Champion vs. Champions tournament this weekend at Subrail Park. Head coach Roderick Singh announced that Gabriele Matanisiga, Kavaia Raiwaqa, Bruce Hughes, and Mosese Nabose are the new additions.
Singh highlighted the importance of these players, particularly in defense. Matanisiga’s skills will strengthen the back line, while Raiwaqa is expected to provide valuable support on the left side. Bruce Hughes, who began his career with Rewa, returns to add competition among the strikers. Nabose also rejoins the team with the aim of contributing to Rewa’s success in the tournament.
These players came on board during the Fiji Football Association’s pre-season transfer window, and Singh expressed optimism about how their presence is influencing team dynamics and preparation. Additionally, the squad has been enhanced by the arrival of Solomon Islands striker John Orobula, who joined just ahead of the match.
Saturday’s game is set to begin at 1:30 PM, marking an exciting start to the football calendar. With the new reinforcements, Rewa fans have every reason to be hopeful about their team’s performance in the championship.
