Rewa football players have been urged to reflect on their performance and engage in some soul-searching ahead of the 2024 Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice Cream Battle of the Giants.
Following their 1-0 victory over Tailevu Naitasiri in round 12 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League on Sunday, the team’s coach and management held an extensive, over 30-minute discussion with the players about their performance.
Head coach Rodeck Singh remarked after the match that the team’s performance did not meet the set expectations.
“Firstly, it was about finishing, and then it came down to individual performances. Some tasks which can be easily performed are not being done by those who are expected to deliver more,” Singh said.
The players were also reminded of the goals they have set beyond local tournaments and the national league.
In 2023, Rewa did not reach the semi-final stages of the BOG tournament.
